I completed a diploma course in Theatre Design / Stage Management in 1984 at the University of Stellenbosch Drama Department. Thereafter I worked as stage manager / set designer / lighting designer for the Market Theatre , Johannesburg and the Baxter Theatre, Cape Town from 1985 – 1989.
From 1990 I started working as a freelance stage manager / lighting designer on various European tours with the production Township Boy – during this period I stage managed, set designed and lighting designed various productions – both in Europe and South Africa.
In 1994 I worked as set dresser on my first feature film and shortly afterwards started decorating feature films regularly. I have since worked as production designer , art director and set decorator on numerous productions – see my CV or imdb.
Besides feature films and tv series’ I also have a strong commercial art director’s cv. For the last 10 years I have created river sculptures on the Black River , Cape Town. This has become a regular feature and is an ongoing green initiative that can be followed on Facebook as “ Riverman”
